This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide when you sign in with Google. When you use "Sign in with Google" to create an account or play our games, Google shares basic profile information with us. This is limited to your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.
Information you create in our games. When you play, we collect the picks, answers, scores, streaks, and other game activity you generate, along with the display name you choose.
Information you send us. If you contact us by email or through a form, we keep the messages and any information you include.
Automatically collected information. Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps, using cookies or similar technologies. This helps us keep the Services working and understand how they are used.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
- To operate our games and contests, including recording your picks, calculating scores, displaying leaderboards, and determining and contacting winners.
- To communicate with you about the Services, including account notices, game results, and prize fulfillment.
- To improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Services and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Google User Data
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, we only use the Google account information described above (name, email, profile picture) to provide and improve the user-facing features of our Services. We do not transfer this information to third parties except as necessary to operate the Services (for example, our hosting and database providers), to comply with law, or with your consent. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read this data except with your permission, for security purposes, to comply with law, or in aggregated or anonymized form for internal operations.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers who help us run the Services (such as web hosting, database, authentication, and email providers), and who are only permitted to use your information to perform services for us.
- Public game features. Your chosen display name, scores, and rankings may appear on public leaderboards or in game results. Your email address is never shown publicly.
- Legal reasons, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or us.
- Business transfers, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may transfer to the new owner under this same policy.
5. How We Store and Protect Information
Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by our service providers, protected by industry-standard measures including encryption in transit and access controls. We keep your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Game history may be retained to maintain leaderboards and contest integrity. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update. You can review the information associated with your account within the Services or by contacting us.
- Delete your data. You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time by emailing hello@thesportsontap.com from the email address associated with your account. - Revoke Google access. You can remove our access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the GDPR, including the right to know, correct, delete, or port your data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
7. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Services link to third-party sites and platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, and merchandise stores. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
