My second ever coffee shop ranking was done at Matilde Coffee Market and Cafe in Medellin Colombia. You can listen and/or watch the first one at Pergamino here. I loved Matilde, the atmosphere is one of the best I have ever been to in my life. The lights, the colors, the location, it all is top notch. It made it 1st on my overall coffee ranking/reviews, but it was technically only the 2nd one ever. We continued on the podcast to discuss thinking Neutral and a fun reddit post that changed my mindset.
On Stuff That Matters with Sami Jarjour, which you can find on Spotify, Apple, and Youtube, I have decided to record my podcast once a week at a different coffee shop, all around the world, but mostly in the United States as I travel back home to Phoenix & Seattle in October. I will be ranking coffee shops, one by one, as the list continues, making top 10, 20, 30 lists and beyond as we grow.
This place has a very beautiful atmosphere, one of the best I have seen in Colombia. It is organized and quiet, perfect to do work or enjoy a conversation with friends. Also, the place is big, and the green space is very pleasant. The menu is healthy, the coffee is good, and I even got some beer right after.
My coffee ranking list that will be update on the weekly:
1. Matilde Coffee Market – Medellin, Colombia ??
“El Poblado is a lovely area of Medellín. Provenza is a zone within El Poblado that is like a charming village & this coffee shop/restaurant is located in the heart of Provenza. I met some US expatriate friends here today for lunch & I immediately noticed how charming & welcoming is Matilde Coffee Market. It’s incredibly clean & designed beautifully with an Internet café for you to use your own computer: Wi-Fi was strong! Many locals were here & the service was prompt & the food & drinks were delicious. It’s much better than the famous Pergamino Cafe, which is always so fastidiously busy. This café is much more relaxed with a beautiful outdoor garden in the back. Matilde Coffee Market is a place that I will return to many times in the future. I usually don’t give 5 star ratings, but I could not find one negative about this restaurant…. even the restrooms were thoughtfully decorated & spotless. Thanks!” – via Trip Advisor
2. Pergamino Cafe – Medellin, Colombia ??
Pergamino Café is a craft roaster with 3 specialty shop in Medellin. At our shops we serve only the best coffees from our own farms or from our allied producer program throughout the country. We roast 3 times a week to guarantee the freshest coffee and our baristas are trained consistently. We also serve fresh baked goods from a great local bakery.
