Today in sports history October 22, 2016 the Chicacgo Cubs won the pennant for the first time in 71 years. They later went on to win their first World Series in 7 games against the Cleveland Indians. It would also be their first World Series in over 100 years. Breaking the longest curse in American sports history.

Just amazing. I just realized that my Seattle Mariners have never won a World Series though either. They were established in 1977. So doing the quick math it’s been 44 years. I feel cursed too. I don’t know what championship drought I want to see broken next but The Seattle Mariners making a World Series has to be up there.
