Today in sports history August 30, 2000. Pedro Martinez begins the game by throwing at Tampa Bay rays Gerald Williams which led to Williams charging the mound and a bench-clearing brawl. Pedro didn’t get ejected. Instead he he retired the next 24 batters and flirts with a no hitter. He finished the game allowing one hit in 9 innings and striking out 13.
