President Trump Tweets Support For College Football To Play #WeWantToPlay Movement

Last night news started circulating that college football would be cancelled sometime this upcoming week. And this morning the Big 10 announced that 12 of the 14 schools voted to cancel the upcoming fall season. Last night many college football stars tweeted out their support to play the season with the #WeWantToPlay hashtag.

It all began with Clemon’s quarterback Trevor Lawerence who should be the number 1 overall pick in the next draft and who I have said on numerous occasions is the best prospect since John Elway and the best prospect in sports since LeBron James. That’s beside the point though. The movement went so viral that President Donald Trump weighed in:

Now we wait and see what happens. It seems pretty evident that the Big 10 and Pac 12 will cancel fall sports. Will this make the ACC, Big 12 and most importantly the SEC follow suit? Only time will tell. But it’s hard to imagine now that college athletes are using their voices that things will ever look the same again in college football.
