Given the current political and social climate, the Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder has come to a conclusion that it is time to change the teams name before the 2020 NFL season.
“On July 3rd, we announced the commencement of a thorough review of the team’s name. That review has begun in earnest. As part of this process, we want to keep our sponsors, fans and community apprised of our thinking as we go forward. Today, we are announcing we will be retiring the Redskins name and logo upon completion of this review,” the Washington football team announced.
Now fans are trying to find a new name and mock-up, the Red Wolves are making a good run on Twitter using some of the same concepts and colors from the Redskins.
Looks like @DC_STEVE also did a throwback design w/

Brilliant idea to have the tail replace the feather. Nice homage to the past and could even be interpreted as a a nod to the #Redtails. Very classy #Redwolves design. https://t.co/iRzRnhr9K0

As much as I am against the name change, this is the only acceptable option thus far. https://t.co/kiGNQitkrb

People are loving it, they keep the classic look of the origins of the team. Fans should like this look, and I think they already are. Dan Snyder himself might even like this option.
