They are not messing around with the Coronavirus in Canada one bit. If you play for the Blue Jays you better not leave your hotel room or ballpark or you could be fined a ton of money and be put in jail due to the Federal law in Canada.
Here is what’s going to keep #BlueJays players in their stadium/hotel bubble this summer:
Per multiple sources, players have been told penalty if seen outside ballpark is $750,000 fine and potential jail time.

It’s a federal government act. Our government put our Quarantine Act into effect a few months back, to make it mandatory by law to quarantine for 14 days.
That’s the maximum allowed, applies to Canadians too who violate mandated quarantine.

Yeah! It’s certainly misleading!
It’s a federal law! Shouldn’t come as a surprise — and they do follow up! I know people who have been checked on to make sure they’re home.

The Toronto Blue Jays are going to be traveling in out of the country so often that they will be subjected to a 14 day quarantine every time they come back to Toronto. This year has been weird and this just makes things weirder. I just wonder what would happen if a team travels to Toronto (let’s say the Yankees). And someone breaks quarantine and has to go to jail in Canada for a year. That could start a full on cross-boder war between Canada and the USA, and with everything happening this year.. this isn’t too far fetched.
