Today In Sports May 28th: Barry Bonds Passes Babe Ruth With 715th Home Run

On May 28th, 2006 Barry Bonds hit his 715th home run for the San Francisco Giants in a 6-3 loss and that home run propelled him past Babe Ruth for 2nd all time in home runs on the all time list. The home run came off Byung-Hyun Kim.

When I was younger I was super impressed with the numbers Bonds was putting up. But, by 2006 not just myself but the whole baseball community was not quite impressed with the numbers because we all knew it was sham. Barry Bonds was injecting steroids unlike any one else. We all knew everyone was on it, but it seems like Bonds took it to a whole another level. He later went on to break Hank Aaron’s mark to be come the all time leader in home runs and no one cares. Crazy how the all time HR leader and all time hit king are both not in the baseball hall of fame.
