The Score: A signed Mike Trout rookie card set a new record at Goldin Auctions’ Spring 2020 Premium Auction on Wednesday night, selling for $900,000.
The 2009 Bowman Draft Chrome Red Refractor card broke the record for the highest-priced modern-day baseball card and tied a LeBron James-Michael Jordan card for the most expensive modern-day card of all time, according to Action Network’s Darren Rovell.
$900,000 is the sale price, a record for any modern card and $700,000 more than the next closest modern baseball card is what we auctioned this for tonight pic.twitter.com/lpctcRQSyB

Alright. What?! I don’t get the card market. I have a Michael Jordan rookie card PSA 8 and the value is almost $5,000 why is this Mike Trout rookie card worth almost $1 million dollars? And imagine being that lucky kid who opened up the box and got this card? I mean unreal. I need answers, why is this worth what it’s worth? Is it a rare card that only has one or is there more to it.
