Well, just when you thought Jerry Jones and the Cowboys had it right by franchise tagging Dak Prescott and making him earn the right to get his $30+ million a year the Cowboys seem like they are bending for Dak and giving him the key to the franchise and could possibly make him the highest paid player in the NFL.
A source on #Cowboys negotiations with QB Dak Prescott wouldn’t describe a contract resolution as close but said discussions not contentious and Prescott will emerge as highest-paid NFL player. Fact April 6 offseason start postponed is factor in that it eliminated team deadline.

Look, Dak Prescott is a fine quarterback. But when you go looking for a home or apartment and it’s fine you don’t go and pay double market value for it because it has a nice front door. The Cowboys will be overpaying for Dak. Plain and simple. I think the Cowboys might not regret the contract, because he is a fine quarterback. But, there’s no reason to bend this hard and give him the largest contract in NFL history.
