Michael Irvin says he talked to DeAndre Hopkins.
Hopkins told him:

If you are a Houston Texan fan you already woke up this week feeling down and in the dumps after giving up DeAndre Hopkins for a injury prone RB and a bag of chips. But you might have had a glimmer of hope that Deshaun Watson would be able to pull out another year of 10+ wins out of nowhere. Well, these comments can’t make you feel great. Anytime your coach starts trading his best player for literally nothing, and then rumors come out that he was calling him Aaron Hernandez that can’t be good. Who knows how true all of this is but DeAndre Hopkins did come back and go on twitter and say it was all overblown.
This is being blown way out of proportion. As I’ve said before, I enjoyed and am proud of my time with the Texans. I have the utmost respect for Coach O’Brien and that will not change. Now, I’m ready to play for the Cardinals.
