$500k Of Jeweler Stolen From Allen Iverson At Hotel

Source: Philadelphia police are searching for the suspect accused of stealing half a million dollars’ worth of jewelry belonging to former Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson, Action News has learned.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Sofitel Hotel located on S. 17th Street in Center City.

Sources confirm the suspect removed approximately $500,000 worth of jewelry from Iverson’s backpack before getting away. Iverson was not present at the time of the theft.

Sounds like this dude knew what was in the backpack and just casually walked into the room, wearing his ear buds, jacket and walked in and out of the hotel room with no problem. In a way I wonder if this was an inside job from someone in the hotel because how could someone get in a room and grab jewelry from a backpack so easily? Makes no sense. And it’s no secret that Iverson loved wearing his jewelry and was always decked out in some fancy pieces.

It sicks but this happens a ton to celebrities a ton every year. Remeber a few years ago Kim Kardashian was tied up at gun point and $10 million was stolen. And this past holiday the heiress of F1 had $67 million of jewelry taken. So it happens. And according to ESPN the thief has turned himself in:

Police on Tuesday said a 21-year-old male has turned himself in after a backpack reportedly belonging to former NBA star Allen Iverson that contained $500,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.
