REPORT: Jason Garrett Agrees to become Giants OC

Jason Garrett’s time away from the NFC East will be shortlived.

The former Dallas Cowboys head coach has agreed to become the New York Giants’ offensive coordinator, a source told ESPN’s Ed Werder.

The 53-year-old will join the staff of first-year head coach Joe Judge, who earned the top job in New York after eight years with the New England Patriots.

Judge has never been a head coach at any level, so Garrett’s experience could be a valuable asset.

After finishing 8-8 and outside the playoffs, Dallas didn’t renew Garrett’s contract. He had been the head coach for nine seasons and had been with the Cowboys since 2007.

Garrett, a former quarterback, spent the 2000 to 2003 with the Giants.
