Miami Heat’s Dion Waiters Overdoses From Gummies On Team Plane…

Dion Waiters Gummies

Well this is something we’ve never seen in the NBA… Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters had a seizure on the team plane after overdosing on “gummies,” Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater reports.

Waiters, who’s yet to appear in a game this season, was listed out for Friday’s contest against the Los Angeles Lakers due to illness. The 27-year-old missed Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Suns with what the Heat labeled as a “stomachache.”

The Heat suspended Waiters for the opening game of the campaign due to “unprofessional conduct,” then left him back in Miami to work on his conditioning during a two-game road trip. The eighth-year player has either been listed as out with illness or a healthy scratch in every other game this season.

Waiters is in Year 3 of the four-year, $52-million contract he signed in 2017 and can earn an additional bonus of $1.1 million if he appears in at least 70 games this year. The Heat, who fell to 6-3 with Friday’s loss to the Lakers, have 73 games remaining on their schedule.
