Yesterday, The Los Angeles Lakers and former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Ty Lue ended their talks because talks broke down. This is despite previous reports that indicated that the Lakers were ready to make an offer to Lue. And appearing on ESPN’s Sportscenter, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith said that their failure to get Lue has left a negative impact on the team and now the Lakers president Jeanie Buss is even being told to trade LeBron James.
“Nothing is out of bounds right now,” Smith said, in the clip below. “We don’t know what the hell is going on in Los Angeles. You’ve got folks close to Jeanie Buss imploring her to trade LeBron James. He does not have a no-trade clause, and now you haven’t given him the coach that he wanted.”

Reports also indicated that LeBron never wanted to be part of the Lakers coaching search either:

Well, this is interesting. I don’t think the Lakers would actually trade LeBron. But it’s interesting to say the least. LeBron has a no trade clause so they can technically trade him anywhere. Hypothetically speaking, If the New York Knicks get the #1 overall pick and have a chance for Zion Williamson. Could the Knicks trade the #1 overall pick, get LeBron, sign Durant and have a instant title contender. Seems far fetched but would be awesome.
