Giants Don’t Use Franchise Tag On Landon Collins Making Him Free Agent

The NFL offseason is always a wild time, but the news of the New York Giants letting Landon Collins walk as a free agent is one of the biggest we’ve had in quite some time. Last month the football world went crazy when reports claimed that the three-time Pro Bowl Safety cleaned out his locker at the team facility.

Turns out there was a reason for this, they are letting him walk. No contract, no franchise tag, Landon Collins is officially a free agent. He went to Twitter to thank the Giants, and the fans for his time in the Big Apple.

Landon Collins is a top safety on the market, and in the league in general. He is joining the market with Earl Thomas and Tyrann Mathieu, but Collins is young, has great size and might come out on top with the biggest deal in terms of dollar signs.

The Kansas City Chiefs are very interested and some reports claim that they are set on making Collins a free agent priority for their team. The Indianapolis Colts are another team on the radar, as their TE Eric Ebron is already recreating Collins to the Colts.

The beauty of this all? Collins get to make the choice himself.
