It’s very possible that DeMarcus Lawrence is one of if not the most disruptive force on the Cowboy’s vaunted defense. But it appears he might go the way of Le’Veon Bell next season if things don’t go the way he likes. Reports today indicate that the Cowboys are going to franchise tag DeMarcus Lawrence and indications from his camp are that he won’t show up to camp unless a long term agreement is in place by July 15.
Can confirm the Cowboys are franchising DeMarcus Lawrence at $20.5 million. He will not sign tag. Will not show up. They have until July 15 to sign a longterm deal

However, Cowboy insiders seem to think that the deal is just a formality.
Allow me to let you in on a secret. Dallas will sign Demarcus Lawrence long term, probably in July once the deadline approaches.
Don't stress about this.

The Dallas Cowboys have a ton of guys coming up who need to be paid including QB and WR Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. But there is no reason to neglect this home grown talent and pass rusher, sign the man now.
